For those users—and those obsessed with extreme edge retention—we have supercharged the Caribbean design with a blade crafted from Crucible Industries’ remarkable CPM REX 121. This high-vanadium, cobalt-bearing tool steel was specifically formulated to offer the greatest attainable hardness and wear resistance possible in a high-speed steel. It effectively bridges the performance gap between high-alloy tool steels and carbide materials in the most demanding industrial applications. When applied to knife blades, it offers breathtaking sharpness and phenomenal edge retention. The full-flat-ground, leaf-shaped blade of the Caribbean REX capitalizes on these properties to deliver unparalleled cutting performance. It is supported by a high-strength Compression Lock mechanism housed within a handle featuring nested, skeletonized stainless steel liners and peel-ply-textured G-10 scales in a distinctive burnt-orange color.
