Spyderco Byrd Black and White G10 Magpie

The newest member of Spyderco’s popular byrd® family, the Magpie is a distinctive blend of tradition, style, and enhanced materials. Its design is based on the Harrier™ 2—the current expression of the original Harrier™ model and the progenitor of all byrd® knives. Its full-flat-ground blade is crafted from 9Cr18MoV—a stainless steel that offers more carbon and chromium than its predecessor for enhanced edge retention and corrosion resistance. Available in a choice of PlainEdge or partially serrated CombinationEdge™ formats, the blade is cloaked in a handsome black oxide coating and paired with a handle boasting minimalist nested stainless steel liners, a stainless steel backspacer, a sturdy back lock mechanism, and a fully configurable four-position clip. Its most distinctive feature, however, is its handle design. Both scales combine black, peel-ply-textured G-10 with sinuous inlays of white G-10. Together with the black-coated clip and handle hardware, this attractive color-contrasting pattern is symbolic of this knife’s namesake.
