The Dragonfly has been a mainstay of the Spyderco product line for decades and still sets the standard when it comes to packing serious cutting performance into a compact package that offers a four-fingered grip. This unique expression of it showcases a blade crafted from CPM® SPY27®, a state-of-the-art powder metallurgy steel that supercharges the cobalt-enriched chemistry of VG-10 stainless steel with niobium, nitrogen, and increased volumes of carbon, molybdenum, and vanadium. Developed in close cooperation with Crucible® Industries and exclusive to Spyderco, it offers an exceptional balance of edge retention, toughness, corrosion resistance, and ease of sharpening. The satin-finished, full-flat-ground PlainEdge™ blade of this Dragonfly 2 takes full advantage of these properties and is paired with a lightweight fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle injection molded in a distinctive cobalt blue—one of the signature handle colors of Spyderco’s elite SPY27 family of knives. The handle also houses the knife’s sturdy back lock mechanism and a reversible deep-pocket wire pocket clip that provides a choice of left or right-side tip-up carry.
