Description
This limited edition set was made to commemorate the history and legacy of JBF Champlin Cutlery. This 3 1/2″ closed Single Blade Jack Knife features a 2 3/4″ long Spear Point D2 tool steel blade with swedge and long nail pull. The handles on this Jack knife are historic rosewood floorboards salvaged from the original 19th-century Cattaraugus Cutlery factory (which Champlin founded) in Little Valley, New York and the historic handles feature a 100 year old “GAR” shield popular in the 1800’s. The GAR Shield is reminiscent of the Grand Army of the Republic, a powerful fraternal organization composed of Union veterans of the American Civil War beginning in 1866. The shield is made to replicate the badge the veterans received, a five-pointed star suspended from an American Flag anchor.
This historical piece is housed in a 13″ x 20″ x 1 3/4″ Light Oak and Glass enclosed display case, with Certificate of Authenticity on back.
These Limited Edition Sets feature detailed summary of the historic JBF Champlin brands legacy and history on the backdrop, commemorative JBF as the “Father of American Cutlery.” Only 25 of this historic set will be produced exclusive to Red Hill Cutlery.
