Most cutting tasks out there can be performed with blades 3.5” or shorter. Usually, though, smaller blades also come with smaller handles. While that’s great when it comes to the overall size and carry-ability of a knife, sometimes, having a smaller blade with a larger handle is to one’s advantage, especially if you’re going to be using it for a while. That’s where the Hornero comes in. The handle is large for a 3” blade, but it fills the hand nicely with its contoured mix of tan and black canvas Micarta. The sheepsfoot-esque blade is made from 3/16” 1095 with TOPS’ famous differential heat treat and black powder coat finish. The included black Kydex sheath has a Kydex belt loop that puts the knife comfortably on a bet up to 2” wide, making this knife easy to carry all day, every day.

The Hornero was designed by Tomás Reynoso from Argentina, and we named the knife after the national bird of his country. He has an extensive background in wilderness and survival activities as a student and teacher. He has had a passion for knives for many years, which has developed into him modding and he has even started making them in his spare time.
